Friesen makes it four straight series wins
BEATRICE, Neb. (May 27) - Make it four straight for Jason Friesen.
The Sutton pilot won for the fourth time in as many Friesen Chevrolet Series outings, his latest victory in the I.M.C.A. Sunoco Late Model tour coming Sunday night at the Beatrice Speedway.
Wood River's Tommy Rowe tried unsuccessfully to take the lead away late in the race and settled for second. Billy Murphy of Loup City and Mike Wiarda of Aurora completed the top four.
Seven cautions slowed the main event and a multi-car tangles would sideline Al Humphrey and Jason Humphrey, both of Guide Rock, and Bassett's Martin Murdock.
Moving up from his 12th place starting spot, Friesen took the lead from Jonathan Rehnberg after a re-start and led to the finish.
Heats went to Rowe, Martin Murdock of Bassett and Friesen. Murdock, in his second season in a Late Model, was a first-time heat winner. Friesen also captured the dash for cash.
The series makes its inaugural appearance at the Belleville, Kan., High Banks on Sunday, June 3.
