STEVE CANNON SCORES FIRST-EVER SILVER SPRING WIN
Steve Cannon started second, took the lead from Paul Miller on the
backstretch of the first lap, and then held off Silver Spring veteran John
Stoner over the final laps to win his first-ever super sportsman feature at
Silver Spring Speedway Saturday night. The 19-year-old driver held off the
veteran Stoner who was followed by J.R. Fry, who started 18th, Joe Renker
and Howie Locke.
Dillsburg's Gerry Stutting Jr. took the lead from race-long leader Randy
Kissinger on the 10th lap and then held off Joe Whitely to win his first
street stock feature of the season. Whitely held on for second as Randy
Askey passed Scott Dellinger and Kissinger over the final five laps to
finish third.
Tim Burhans of Enola led every lap of the 10-lap Sportsman B-main for
non-qualifiers.
