Arctic Cat is official ATV of I.M.C.A.
THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. (May 19) - Arctic Cat is now the official ATV of the International Motor Contest As-sociation.
The Thief River Falls, Minn., company will furnish four all terrain vehicles for use by I.M.C.A. personnel at special events, including Super Nationals, in 2001.
"We feel motorsports is the fastest growing marketing tool available now and this adds to our motorsports marketing strategy," said Don Shetler, Arctic Cat's promotions supervisors for ATVs in the United States. "ATVs are fast becoming the vehicle of choice to move in and out of the pits. They're very versatile."
Arctic Cat is also a well-known manufacturer of snowmobiles, along with related parts, accessories and garments In its 40th year of business, the company has 1,700-plus employees and a network of dealers and distributors around the world.
"There is a growing need for all terrain vehicles on the dirt track level that Arctic Cat recognizes," I.M.C.A. Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. "Four-wheelers are becoming a necessary tool in the pit area and for promoters and officials to move easily and quickly around the track during the race program."
Arctic Cat signs and banners will be displayed at various specials this season, including Super Nationals Sept. 3-8 at the Boone, Iowa, Speedway.
Stocks added to June 17 Sunday series at Grayson County
BELLS, Texas - I.M.C.A. Sunoco Stock Cars have been added to the June 17 show, when the Day Motorsports Texas Super Sunday Series travels to Grayson County Speed-way.
The race will be the first for the I.M.C.A.-sanctioned division at Grayson County. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the first heat is set for 7 p.m., promoter Benny Busby said.
The new date means Stock Cars will join the I.M.C.A Sunoco Modifieds at seven of the eight remaining races on the 2001 series schedule.
Jeff Turner of Dallas has won two of the first three series races for the Stocks and tops the point standings heading into the next event, May 27 at Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco.
