DEWEASE PASSES HESTOR FOR 74TH CAREER PORT WIN
Mont Alto's Lance Dewease made a 19th lap move in traffic to steal the lead
away from Todd Hestor Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway and then cruised
to his second win of the weekend and sixth of the season in overall 410
sprint competition in the 25 lap super sprint feature.
Sixth starting Dewease drove around both Shawn Keen and Mark Smith with ten
laps to go to move into second, and then went to the outside of Hestor off
the second corner to take the lead with six to go before driving to a half
straightaway win over Hestor. Carlisle's Keen rode home third followed by
Smith, of Newville and Erdley.
Having won the previous night at Williams Grove Speedway, the win was
Dewease's 74th career Port and his second of the season at the Juniata
County racing facilty.
In late model action, McVeytown's Kenny Dickson drove to a straightaway win
over Steve Campbell and Scott Lupfer for his third win of the year, and 48th
of his career.
Lewistown's Jason Schmidt picked up the win in pro stocks for his first win
of the year and the seventh of his career over Jim Palm and Tim Krape.
