posted May 13, 2001 04:18 PM DEWEASE PASSES HESTOR FOR 74TH CAREER PORT WIN Mont Alto's Lance Dewease made a 19th lap move in traffic to steal the lead away from Todd Hestor Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway and then cruised to his second win of the weekend and sixth of the season in overall 410 sprint competition in the 25 lap super sprint feature. Sixth starting Dewease drove around both Shawn Keen and Mark Smith with ten laps to go to move into second, and then went to the outside of Hestor off the second corner to take the lead with six to go before driving to a half straightaway win over Hestor. Carlisle's Keen rode home third followed by Smith, of Newville and Erdley. Having won the previous night at Williams Grove Speedway, the win was Dewease's 74th career Port and his second of the season at the Juniata County racing facilty. In late model action, McVeytown's Kenny Dickson drove to a straightaway win over Steve Campbell and Scott Lupfer for his third win of the year, and 48th of his career. Lewistown's Jason Schmidt picked up the win in pro stocks for his first win of the year and the seventh of his career over Jim Palm and Tim Krape.
