Mother Nature ruled at Lernerville Speedway, Friday, May 10th. Two
torrential downpours, the first at 4:00 and the second at 6:30 flooded the
facility. The Mid-Atlantic Champion Series (MACS) Late Models, Sprints and
Pure Stocks will be rescheduled for Friday August 3rd. There was electricity
in the air with the anticipation of the debut of the MACS Late Models, that
paid $4,000 to the victor.
Friday, May 18th will be another "Fabulous Four" event, featuring the
Triangle Gasoline Sprints, Friedman's Supermarket's Late Models, Ferrante
Oldsmobile Modifieds and the Dingbats Restaurant Pure Stocks.
In the Points Challenge, Jimmy Hawley leads Rod George in the Sprint
class. David Scott has a one-digit advantage over John Flinner in the Late
Models. Brian Swartzlander is "boss" of the Modifieds with Bob Wearing Jr
second. Jeff Walters tops the Pure Stock chart and Butch Lambert is directly
behind.
Join us Friday, June 1st when the Pennzoil World of Outlaws' Sprint
"Commonwealth Challenge" will take place. The $10,000 to win show will take
place at 8:00 with time trials slated for 7:15.
