BOGGS TAKES FIRST CAREER UDTRA WIN ON HIS HOME TURF

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

PRESTONSBURG, KY - Jackie Boggs of Grayson, KY, son of the late Jack Boggs,
is following in his great father's footsteps, as he posted his first career
United Dirt Track Racing Association Pro DirtCar Series victory Friday night
at Thunder Ridge Speedway driving the McDonalds Swartz/T&H Monte Carlo.

Black Jack would have been proud of the way his son went on the race track
where no other driver dared to go to win the 2nd Annual Miller Brothers
Coal
Classic 50-lap main event and the $10,000 top prize.

Boggs reeled in early race leader Rick Eckert of York, PA during the
closing laps and took the lead with ten laps to go. While most competitors
clung to the inside groove of the 3/8-mile dirt oval, Boggs stepped to the
outside to make the winning pass.

"I when to the outside because that was the only place I could pass," Boggs
said. "The car came on strong at the end when I needed it."

Once in the lead, Boggs pulled away from Eckert to post a "Clean Sweep"
of
the event. Boggs was the fast qualifier among the 45 entrants with a lap
in
17.340 seconds for an average speed of 77.855 miles per hour, and earned
a
$200 bonus from Miller Brothers Coal. He then earned the pole position
for
the main event by winning the 1st 10-lap Borla Performance heat race.

UDTRA point leader Eckert took the second spot in the Raye Vest
Rocket/Cornett Mustang, and he also won the JE Pistons Bonus Award of $100
for winning the 2nd heat race. Eckert increased his point lead over Steve
Francis of Ashland, KY to 87 points. Eckert now has nine top five finishes
in the first 13 UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series events of the 2001 season.

Steve Shaver of Parkersburg, WV finished third in the Simonton
Windows/Poske's Performance Rocket/Malcuit Monte Carlo, and he also won
the
3rd heat race. Davey Johnson of Greensburg, PA finished fourth in the
Rocket Chassis Rocket/Draime Monte Carlo and he also picked up the Scott
Performance Wire $100 bonus with the 4th heat race win.

Francis took the fifth spot in the Valvoline/Mopar Performance
Rocket/Stanton Dodge for his 12th top ten finish in the first 13 races.
Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA posted his best finish of the 2001 UDTRA
Pro DirtCar Series season with a sixth place effort in the Seubert Calf
Ranches Rocket/Pro Power Grand Prix.

The defending and four-time UDTRA Champion Scott Bloomquist posted his
fourth straight top ten finish by driving his Miller Brothers Coal
Warrior/Custom Mustang to the seventh spot and moved up to fourth in the
points chase. Shannon Babb of Decatur, IL finished eighth in the Car City
Co. Rayburn/Dickens Monte Carlo.

The 1996 UDTRA Champion Freddy Smith of Knoxville, TN was ninth in the
Christenberry Trucking and Farms GRT/Custom Monte Carlo, and moved into
tenth spot in the point standings. Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR
rounded out the top ten in the JFR Graphics/Monday Motorsports GRT/Russell
Baker Grand Prix.

At the start, Eckert and Boggs battled for the lead and made contact twice
on the first lap - once coming off turn two, and again racing down the
backstretch. Eckert took the lead on the high side in turn three, and then
pulled out to a ten car-length advantage over Boggs in the early laps.

The first of three caution flags came out on lap four when Steve Boley
of
West Liberty, IA spun his Ron Alpen Ford Mastersbilt/Cornett Mustang in
turn
four, and collected Dan Schlieper of Pewaukee, WI in the Performance Roofing
Systems Rayburn/Pro Power Monte Carlo. Boley was able to continue, but
Schlieper was out for the night.

On the restart, Babb advanced from eighth to sixth, and Smith moved up
from
tenth to eighth on lap seven. The second caution flag was unfurled on lap
11 when Rod Conley of Wheelersburg, OH stalled the Conley Trucking
Rocket/Draime Monte Carlo on the backstretch. Birkhofer gained ground after
the restart moving from ninth up to seventh by lap 17.

By lap 20, the third and fourth turns of the track began to dry out and
heavy dust made visibility tough. The final caution flag was waved on lap
22 when Marshall Green of Dalton, GA stalled his Barto Enterprises
Warrior/Hatfield Monte Carlo on the backstretch.

When the field went back to green, Birkhofer and Bloomquist began a
side-by-side battle for the sixth spot. Birkhofer used the inside groove
to
pass Bloomquist for the spot on lap 24.

As Eckert worked lapped traffic, Boggs began to close on the leader. On
lap
39, Boggs went to the outside, pulled along side Eckert in turn three, and
as the lead duo raced out of the dust cloud on the front straightaway, Boggs
took the point, and then never looked back to the checkered flag.

Schlieper won the Renegade Transporters 1st 10-lap Consolation Race, and
Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA drove his Larry Shaw Race Cars Larry
Shaw/Hatfield Grand Prix to a win in the Polaris ATVs 2nd 10-lap Consolation
Race. McDowell started the main event in the 18th position and finished
11th to earn the JE Pistons Hard Charger of the Race Award.

The next event for the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series will be Saturday night at
K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, OH for a 50-lap $10,000-to-win main event. The
pit gate opens Saturday at 1 p.m., and the front grandstand gate opens at
4
p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m., followed by qualifying, heat
races, consolation races, and the main event.

The Country Hearth Inn at 1135 E. Main Street in Chillicothe, OH will be
the UDTRA Official Host Hotel for the K-C Raceway event. The Country Hearth
Inn General Manager and race fan Ed Little will welcome UDTRA fans and
competitors with a $45.00 discount rate. To make reservations call
1-888-395-4289 and ask for the special UDTRA discount rate.
