DEWEASE TROUNCES GUMOUT SERIES AT PORT ROYAL
Fayettesville's Lance Dewease upheld the honor of the Pennsylvania Posse
Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway in picking up the win against the
invading World of Outlaw Gumout Series. The $5,000 win was Dewease's 73rd
career win and his first win of the season at the historic Juniata County
oval.
Keith Kauffman used his outside front row starting spot to grab the lead at
the drop of the green with Dewease making his race-winning move on the fifth
lap. Dewease to the win by a half straightaway over Kauffman. Todd Shaffer
rode home third followed by Todd Hestor and Todd Gracey, who has announced
he will follow the Gumout series this season.
"My motor was cold at the start and I about got run over when it didn't
take off," said the winner in victory lane. "We didn't change the car after
the Dash...it worked great on the bottom. We had a slow start here this
year. It's tough on these young Outlaw drivers to come in here and beat us.
We'll be running next Saturday at Lincoln with the All-Stars."
Mifflintown driver Gary Beward snared the lead from Jason Schmidt with two
laps to go in the 12-lap pro stock feature to pick up his seventh career
speedway win.
