David Johnson Took his First Pure Stock Win

Pure stock had such a large field they were divided into two feature.
The first feature started with Mark Tate on the pole. Tate had the lead but
not for long before Bo Garig took over. In turn four was a 7 car pile up with
a wheel flying in the middle of them. On the restart it was Garig upfront
again, but starting to smoke. 3 laps into the race Juban spun coming off turn
two and went into the wall. While under caution the smoking leader Garig went
in the infield. On the restart it was Tate followed by David Johnson. Yellow
flew Gin a couple laps later when Stacie Buecker went off edge of the back
straightaway. Two complete laps David Johnson and Mark Tate battled wheel to
wheel for the lead till under the flag stand Johnson took over the lead. Tate
slid into the infield off four and then got back out in fourth.
Darren Dean moved up to second and Mark Hardwick to third. Something happened
to second place Dean and he came into the infield. Johnson went on to score
the win followed by Mark Hardwick, Mark Tate, Darrel Guy and Belinda Paetz.
Dean and Buhler tied up in turn four on the start of the second pure
stock feature. Daniel Gordon had the lead, but lost it and went into the
infield. Gordon tagged the year on the restart. Roy Stebsneder had the lead
on the restart till Perry Saizon took it over. Gordon worked his way back to
second and Stebsneder third.
Heat winners were David Johnson, Darrell Guy, and Mark Tate.
Dale Aucoin and Conrad Cupit took the heat wins for UMP Modified.
Jerry Cassano jumped into the lead on the start and led every lap and scored
another win. .Dale Aucoin ran second till Conrad Cupit ran him down and took
over second. Aucoin finished third, Bobby Semple worked his way to fourth and
earned the Timberwolf Hard Charger award. Vicky McSwain rounded out the top
five.
On the start of the street stock feature Todd Hazel spun in four
bringing out the yellow. On the restart it was Scooter with the lead and
Kerry Vicknair battling trying to get the lead away. Paetz held Vicknair off
and scored the win.Ricky Price ran third till the last few laps when Robert
Ringo took third from Price leaving him with fourth. Tommy Cannon took fifth.
Gary Talbert and Scooter Paetz took the heat wins.
Eddie Melson and Scotty Covington shared the heat wins for mini stock.
Husband and wife Donna and Wayne Everett tied up on the front straightaway
bringing out the yellow. On the restart it was Scotty Covington followed by
Eddie Melson. Wesley Lafleur took second from Melson and then spun BJ Watts
moved into second. Scotty Covington was gone there was no catching him. He
went on to put another notch in his belt. BJ Watts took second followed by
Eddie Melson, Daniel Jessup and Donna Everett.
Kevin Watts and Jerry Bevis took the heat wins for late models. On the
drop of the green was a three wide battle between Eric Courville, Kevin Watts
and Jerry Bevis. Courville got the lead and led every lap and scored the win.
Bevis took second, Sam Patrick took third from Watts in the final laps. Kevin
Watts took fourth, and Randy Blanchard rounded out the top five.
