Sam Patrick Takes First Feature Win In Late Model
Rusty Williams jumped into the lead in the novice B main,
but didn't keep it long. Scott Womack took over the lead and held it till the
checkered scoring the win. Austin Butler took second Williams third, 4A
fourth and fifth went to 526. Heat winners were Shane Barber, Terry Lee and
Novice A main on the drop of the green they ran three wide Terry Lee,
44x and Shane Barber. A pile up occurred. On the restart it was Lee followed
by Mark Hardwick. Terry Lee took the win followed by Mark Hardwick, Heath
Cowart, 44x and Gary Petit.
Jerry Cassano ans Gregg Hollingsworth battled it out on the front row
for 4 restarts till Cassano got the lead and took the win. Hollingsworth took
second 7 car lengths back.Greg Freeman third. Gary Joiner swiftly worked his
way up to finish fourth and fifth went to Glendale Shoemake. Cassano and
Hollingsworth shared the heat wins.
Brant Tirello, David Knight and Thornton all took heat wins for super
stock. On the start Tirello blasted int the lead but soon had his hands full
with Billy Gordon. Robert Morel was able to pass Gordon and then ran down
Tirello but was unable to pass/ At the tech line Tirello was Dqed fro being
light and Morel took the win followed by Billy Gordon, Joey Humphreys and
Jamie Blades and Jimmy Stephens took wins in pure stock heats. On the
front row they drag raced to one where Blades got the lead. `First yellow
flew when Randy Brownell and Stephens tangled. Once again Blades led till a
yellow flew then Daniel Boyd, Michael Barfield and Rusty Cooper tied up in
two. While Stephens and Blades battled wheel to wheel Randy Brownell slipped
by and took the win. Jamie Blades second, Bo Garig third, Jimmy Stephens
fourth sand fifth Daniel Boyd,
Kerry Vicknair and Reuben Allred took street stock heat wins, Vicknair
jumped right into the lead followed by Jamie Hamilton. Todd Rogers ran third
till he went up in blue smoke three weeks in a row. Matthew Simeon took
third, Jason Holland fourth and Brad McKey fifth.
Sam Patrick and Donald Watson shared heat wins for late models. Patrick
took the lead, then Watson snatched it away till he drifted up in three and
Patrick blew past him and held it till the checkered, Only yellow flew when
Seavy Clemons broke on the front. Raymond Taylor slipped by Watson also to
take third. Davin Bates tried lap after lap to get third from Watson and in
the final laps finally did. Watson took fourth and David Knight fifth.
