OšREILLY AUTO PARTS ALL-SERIES RACE IN DAVENPORT IS POSTPONED
The OšReilly Auto Parts 40 is reset for this Sunday, April 8

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 6, 2001) ­ The OšReilly Auto Parts All-Star Series,
NASCAR Touring race scheduled for tonight, Friday, at the Davenport Speedway
has been postponed due to inclement weather, NASCAR officials have
announced.
The OšReilly Auto Parts 40, the opening race of the OšReilly Auto Parts
All-Star Seriesš 2001 season, is being rescheduled for this Sunday, April 8,
at the Davenport half-mile.
Registration for OšReilly Auto Parts All-Star Series drivers and inspection
of their Grand American Late Models opens at noon on Sunday. Practice is set
for 4:30 p.m.
Ten-lap qualifying races followed by a 12-lap consolation race begin at 5:30
and will set the field for the 40-lap main event, with a top prize of $4,000
from the nearly $23,000 payoff. Steve Boley of West Liberty, Iowa, is the
defending OšReilly Auto Parts All-Star Series champion.
Sundayšs races, the first of the season for the newly relighted Davenport
track, are being promoted by Mach 1 Enterprises LLC, a new company owned by
Brad DuBil.
Following the Davenport stop, OšReilly Series drivers head to Dubuque, Iowa,
for a 50-lapper on Friday, April 20.
The OšReilly Auto Parts All-Star Series is one of nine NASCAR Touring Series
that blanket the United States, bringing special events to many NASCAR
Weekly Racing Series tracks and some NASCAR superspeedways and road courses.
NASCAR Touring Series can provide a competitor with an entire career, or
they can provide valuable experience to competitors moving through the
NASCAR ranks. Corporate sponsors make significant contributions to NASCAR
Touring Series point funds. The sponsors include R.J. Reynolds,
Anheuser-Busch, Featherlite Trailers, Goodyšs Headache Powders, OšReilly
Auto Parts, Raybestos Brakes and RE/MAX International Inc.
