Southern Raceway prepped for 11th Winter Nationals
MILTON, Fla. (Jan. 28) - A pair of feature races for I.M.C.A. Sunoco Modifieds top programs at the upcoming Southern Raceway Winter Nationals.
The 11th annual event is Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8, with the Modifieds racing for $1,000 to win each night. De-fending Winter Nationals winners are Curtis Galbreath of Chipley and Mike Paillou of Pass Christian, Miss.
Galbreath also took the checkers at Milton in 1996 and 2000. The only other three-time winner at the early-season special is Mark Stephens of Arlington, Tenn., in 1998-2000.
Friday's show will also include the street stock, truck and vintage classes. The Saturday card is completed by limited late model, hobby stock and hogg classes.
A practice session open to all drivers will be Thursday evening. Gates to the pit area open at 3:30 p.m. and drivers should be signed in by 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with racing to follow 7 p.m. drivers' meetings both nights.
