ROME SPEEDWAY READY TO GO FOR UDTRA PRO DIRT CARS ON SATURDAY NIGHT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
ROME, GA - Rome Speedway escaped the wrath of Tropical Storm Isidore and

Despite heavy rains from Isidore that pelted the Southeast earlier in the
week, track officials announced on Friday afternoon that the 1/2-mile
high-banked clay oval is race-ready.

Chattanooga, so we're in good shape," Track owner Mickey Swims said. "The
parking lot has drained well, and the outside pit area should be completely
dried out by tomorrow morning. It looks like we might even have to water
the track before the race."
Swims was busy at the track on Friday putting gravel down on the access road
to the outer pit area, and was working the track with the grader. The
National Weather Service forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a high
of 82 degrees for Saturday.
