Waltrip to appear at Auto Tire and Parts Racepark
NASCAR Winston Cup driver Michael Waltrip will be making a special appearance at the Auto Tire and Parts Racepark in Benton, MO on August 13 along with NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver and pilot of the NAPA Craftsman Truck Brendan Gaughan. The appearance of the two NASCAR competitors will kick off the Auto Tire and Parts and NAPA fan appreciation night.
Highlighting the Auto Tire and Parts and NAPA fan appreciation night will be the UMP Late Models, who will be fighting for the $2,000 top prize for the winner. The Miller Lite Open-Wheel Modifieds will also be running in companion to the UMP Late Models.
Waltrip, the brother of former Winston Cup champion Darrell Waltrip, is the winner of the 2001 Daytona 500 and the driver of the NAPA Monte Carlo most recently won the Pepsi 400 also held at the famed Daytona International Speedway. Waltrip drives for Dale Earnhardt Inc. on the Winston Cup Series and is teammates to Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Park.
Gaughan, a rising star on the NASCAR Craftsman Series, has one win this year in 13 starts and currently sits 12th in the truck series points. Gaughn is a former NASCAR Winston West and NASCAR Southwest Touring Series competitor.
Auto Tire and Parts and NAPA fan appreciation night will host an autograph session with the driver of the #15 NAPA Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Waltrip along with Gaughan starting at 7pm.
Fans will also be able to win a pair of tickets to the NAPA 500 held at Atlanta Motor Speedway, also a pair of tickets to the NAPA Hospitality VIP area will also be given away. The first 500 fans that enter the grandstand gate will receive a hat.
The top names in the UMP National Champion race are expected to attend the $2,000 to win event.
Grandstand admission to the Auto Tire and Parts and NAPA night at the races is $10.00. Pit gates open at 4pm with the grandstands opening at 5pm with racing action starting at 7:30pm.
