Mississippi Modified Spring Stampede This Saturday Night!

Columbus, Mississippi-The Columbus Speedway will host the Mississippi
Modified Spring Stampede Championship this Saturday night April 20th for the
IMCA Type Open Wheel Mississippi Modifeds. The 25-lap Championship event
will pay $1,000 to win to the champion.

The Modified class at Columbus Speedway has provided a thrilling show during
the 2002 season at Johnny Stokes house of speed and has quickly become a fan
favorite with the edge of your seat action that has been provided. This
Saturday night's event is highly anticipated, as the Modifeds will have
their coming out party with one of the division's biggest events ever at the
infamous speedway.

A host of open wheel hotshoes are expected to converge on the high banked
3/10's mile clay oval including local aces and current point's leader Matt
Price, Brian and Jason Hollis, Lee Ray, last week's feature winner Dr.
Robert Eaton, Brian Rickman, and Ronnie McDaniel plus many more of the
Columbus Speedway Modified marauders. Outside invaders expected include
Reagan, Tennessee's Jason Sullivan, Munford, Alabama's Jamey Wynn,
Lexington, Tennessee's Nick Hart, and Hattiesburg's Ben Stephens plus many
more of some of the most talented open wheel pilots in the Mississippi,
Alabama, and Western Tennessee region.

The Modifeds will follow the standard Columbus Speedway Championship event
format which includes single lap Pole Qualifying locking in the top 18 cars
with the remainder of the field completed by running a B-Main if necessary
to round out the 24-car starting field. The event will be run early in the
evening and will also include front stretch driver introductions.

There will also be an added bonus of $200 if the winner of the Friday night
Open Wheel Modified $1,000 to win special event at North Alabama can win at
Columbus Saturday night making a nice amount of $2,300 possible to win on
the line for a clean sweep of the two events. North Alabama Speedway event
