RENEGADE DIRT CAR RACING SERIES DRIVERS READY TO TAKE ON
HAGERSTOWN TOP DRIVERS IN SCHETROMPF MEMEMORIAL

HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Renegade Dirt Car Racing Series will make its
first appearance of the year at the Hagerstown Speedway on Saturday
night, April 27th at 7 P.M. The 50-lap Stanley Schetrompf Memorial will
pay $7,000 to the winner. Joining the RDCRS late models will be the
Hoosier Tire late model sportsman and Ernie's Salvage Yard pure stocks.
Gates will open at 5 P.M. with warm-ups at 6:30 P.M. The Schetrompf
Memorial is held each year to honor the man that built the speedway 55
years ago in 1947. General admission is $20 with children under 12 FREE.

Defending National Renegade Dirt Car Racing Series Champion Chub Frank
of Sugar Grove, PA, and current point leader Don O'Neal are expected to
lead a large field of RDCRS drivers to Hagerstown to take on the tough
local ITSI late model drivers who have their sights on the winner's
share of the purse worth more than $33,000. Other RDCRS drivers expected
include Rick Auckland of Zanesville, OH, WV, John Mason of Millersburg,
OH, Davey Johnson of Greensburg, PA. former STARS champion Mike Balzano,
Todd Andrews, Steve Shaver, R.J. Conley, Mike Johnson and more.

In 41 previous Renegade Dirt Car events at the immaculate half-mile
oval, 18 drivers have found their way to Victory Lane. Gary Stuhler of
Greencastle, PA heads the list with eleven victories including five
consecutive "Schetrompf Memorials" from 1994 to 1998. Rodney Franklin of
White Post, VA has garnered six triumphs while Donnie Moran of Dresden,
OH has four to his credit. Drivers with two RDCRS wins include Steve
Francis, Jack Boggs, Bart Hartman and Bob Wearing Jr. Drivers with one
win include defending race champion Davey Johnson, Chub Frank, Earl
Pearson Jr., Mike Balzano, Roy Deese Jr., Todd Andrews, Larry Moore,
Freddy Smith, Nathan Durboraw, Bob Wearing Sr. and Buddy Armel.

Some of the local drivers who want to turn back the Renegade Dirt Car
drivers include Durboraw, Franklin, Stuhler, Charlie Schaffer, Marvin
Winters, Devin Friese, Frankie Plessinger and more.
