Lernerville Speedway will celebrate its 35th season this year! For over
three decades the quest for excellence continues and the staff at Lernerville
are providing another "blockbuster" schedule for you. Gates will open
Friday, March 29, 2002 at 5:00 and racing will begin at 7:30pm sharp.
Once again you will find that Lernerville Speedway is the only dirt track in
the Nation to present the top three paying divisions weekly and they are as
follows: the St. Barnabas Health System Sprints, Friedman's
Supermarkets/Bi-Lo Foods Late Models and Ferrante Oldsmobile V-8 Modifieds.
Add to this the ever popular Dingbats Restaurant Pure Stocks and you have a
mixture of racing not easily equaled anywhere for a $10 admission price.
There are 21 "Fabulous Four" Friday evenings.
Seven special events will be presented in 2002. Two Pennzoil World of
Outlaws shows will highlight the season. The first at the Sarver oval is
Tuesday, May 14th. The "Commonwealth Clash" will pay $10,000 to the victor.
The next WoO event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23rd when the Don Martin
Memorial Silver Cup XI Show posts a healthy $35,000 to the winner. This
amount matches the years of speedway operation.
The World of Outlaws Division II Series will be featured at the Earl and
David Bauman Memorial Sprint Show Friday, August 30. This $5,000-to-win $500
to-start event will highlight young drivers from across the United States who
will challenge the talented Sprint chauffeurs of Lernerville.
The Mid-Atlantic Champion Series Late Models (MACS) is scheduled for
Friday, June 28th along with the Sprints and Pure Stocks. After winning the
Lernerville show last season, Mike Blose went on to dethrone Lynn Geisler and
is the new reigning 2001 MACS Champion.
It is "Fan Appreciation" night, June 21st that features holiday Fab Four
Racing and a spectacular Independence Day Zambelli ground and aerial
fireworks display at no additional charge.
Celebrating the end of the school year, Tuesday, June 11, the track will
showcase "Summer -Vacation" Blue Bird School Bus Races. Back by popular
demand will be the "Powder Puff" Bus Racing and for the children the super
Ferraccio Family Supermarket's "Bike Races. " Add to this an Auto Demo Derby
and the Zoresco PCTC Senior Series and you have fun family entertainment for
all ages. September 7th is slated for the "Back-to-School Bus Race, Powder
Puff Races, Ferraccio Family Supermarkets Bike Races and the Zoresco PCTC
Senior Series Championship.
The AutumnMotive-Fest will cap the season Saturday September 28th. On the
racing card is Pure Stock "Pandemonium," Bluebird School Bus Races, "The
Sequel", Powder Puff Bus races plus a gigantic Auto Demo Derby.
Remember …circle March 29th on your calendar. Be there Friday evening to
kick off the 35th season and witness "quality in motion" at the "Action
Track!"
