NASCAR WEEKLY RACING SERIES FINALE THIS SUNDAY AT NRP
September 12, 2001 - Greenwood, Neb. - The very freedom that allows drivers
and fans to enjoy the sport that they love was attacked this week with the
tragedies that occurred in New York, Washington DC and Pittsburgh. Nebraska
Raceway Park will still hold this Sunday's racing action as scheduled, not
in spite of the tragedy that has occurred, but in celebration of the freedom
we are given in this grand and united country.
This Sunday, September 16, Plaza Pontiac presents the final night of the
2001 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. While this is not the last event
scheduled for the track this season, it will be the last night of points
competition this year. Super Late Models, Walker Uniform Rental Grand
Nationals, O'Reilly Auto Parts Pro-Ams and Jasper Engines and Transmissions
Hobby Stocks will all be in action throughout the night.
In addition to the racing excitement of four classes, NRP and KT103 radio
will be giving away this year's Grand Am pace car. Ten pace car qualifiers
will be chosen at random to select a key. The one that holds the key that
starts the car will win the Grand Am pace car from Plaza Pontiac! Plus fans
will get to experience the True Value Motorsports Experience. Front gates
will open at 4:30 p.m. with racing at 6:00 p.m.. Adult admission is $9 with
kids 12 and under admitted FREE!
The racing action doesn't end this Sunday. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday
September 20-22 the Pennzoil World of Outlaws come to NRP. The fastest show
on dirt will compete in Nebraska Raceway Park's "Great Plains Shootout".
The season then wraps up on Friday and Saturday, October 5-6 with the O'
Reilly Auto Parts All Star Series as they compete in the "Cornhusker Classic
Nebraska Raceway Park is a .4 mile, semi-banked dirt oval featuring the
NASCAR Weekly Racing Series every Sunday night April through September plus
specials including the Pennzoil World of Outlaws, NSCA Sprint Car Series, O'
Reilly Auto Parts All-Star Series and more. Directions to NRP: Take I-80
