UDTRA EVENTS THIS WEEK WILL RUN AS SCHEDULED IN TEXAS AND LOUISIANA

FORT WORTH, TX - Texas Motor Speedway and United Dirt Track Racing
Association officials have announced that the Wolf Brand Chili Challenge
for
the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series will be run as scheduled this Thursday night.
UDTRA also announced their event at Thunder Valley Speedway in Glenmora,
LA
will also run as scheduled on Saturday night.

"It is the right thing to do," said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage.
"Any decision we could have made will be met with approval from some and
disapproval from others. However, auto racing is the most American of sports
and our fans have made it clear that they want us to hold these races. It
will be a time when Americans can gather together, begin the healing process
and show the world that you cannot break us."

The Wolf Brand Chili challenge will feature the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series
cars and drivers in a $15,000-to-win 50-lap main event. Rick Eckert of
York, PA leads Steve Francis of Ashland, KY in the UDTRA points chase by
13
points. The defending and four-time UDTRA Champion Scott Bloomquist of
Mooresburg, TN is third in points, 106 points behind Eckert.

Bloomquist will be looking for his fourth straight UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series
victory to tie a UDTRA record he also holds. Jimmy Mars of Elk Mound, WI
won the March UDTRA round at the 4/10-mile Texas Motor Speedway dirt track,
and Dan Schlieper of Pewaukee, WI won last year's Wolf Brand Chili Challenge
at TMS.

Other top UDTRA competitors on their way to the Lone Star State are 1999
UDTRA Champion Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA, Wendell Wallace of
Batesville, AR, Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC, 1996 UDTRA Champion Freddy Smith

"UDTRA has been in contact with Texas Motor Speedway and Thunder Valley
Speedway since the tragic situation in our country took place on Tuesday
morning," UDTRA President Mike Swims said. "We have all been in agreement
with the tone of our national government leaders in that we must not come
to
our knees because of these cowardly acts of violence, and we must carry
on
with business as usual."
