ONE WILD WEEKEND OF RACING PLANNED WITH FRIDAY AND SUNDAY SHOWS SCHEDULED AT
NEBRASKA RACEWAY PARK
September 5, 2001 - Greenwood, Neb. - Dirt track racing fans are preparing
for a full weekend of racing at Nebraska Raceway Park. Sprint car
enthusiasts will be treated to the NSCA Lawrence Ideus Memorial on Friday,
September 7. The racing action then continues on Sunday, September 9 as
Skylark Meats presents the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series.
Friday's action will feature the Nebraska Beef Producers NSCA Ethanol E-10
Sprint Series, Nebraska's own touring 360 sprint car series. They will
compete in the Lawrence Ideus Memorial, their 8th event of the 2001 season
and 2nd of the year at NRP. A high car count is anticipated with drivers
from 6 different states providing fans with one of the most thrilling sprint
car shows around. In addition, the night will include Modified action,
Dwarf racing of the Nebraska Modified Lite/Dwarf Cars and Vintage Coupe
racing of the Central Vintage Racing Association. Front gates open at 5:30
p.m., with hot laps at 7:00 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. Adult tickets will
be $10, kids 6-12 $3 and kids 5 and under FREE.
Sunday, NRP will host the exciting NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by
Skylark Meats. With only two nights of points racing remaining in 2001, the
action is sure to be intense as drivers compete for the top position in all
divisions. The NASCAR Super Late Models will be in action along with the
Walker Uniform Rental Grand Nationals, O'Reilly Auto Parts Pro-Ams and
Jasper Engines and Transmissions Hobby Stocks. Front gates open at 4:30
p.m. with racing at 6:00 p.m.. Adult admission $9, seniors $7 and kids 12
and under FREE.
Nebraska Raceway Park is a .4 mile, semi-banked dirt oval featuring the
NASCAR Weekly Racing Series every Sunday night April through September plus
specials including the Pennzoil World of Outlaws, NSCA Sprint Car Series, O'
Reilly Auto Parts All-Star Series and more. Directions to NRP: Take I-80
