Raceway 7 set for Friday and an upcoming schedule change
Conneaut, OH (August 8) - A four-division program of racing will be presented at Raceway 7 on Friday, August 10. It will be the running of the General Aluminum Extravaganza. The featured event will be the running of the Third Annual "Buckeye Challenge" for the Triathlon Racing Series York Modifieds or E-Mods. The Maloney Tool and Mold Late Models, Jay's Auto Wrecking Steel Block Late Models, and Fame Manufacturing Street Stocks will also be on the card.
Just announced is a schedule change on the Friday, August 17. It will still be Bossard-Crawford / General Motors Night. And the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series Late Models will still visit, but their race event has been changed. It has been changed to a 40-lap main event with $5,000 going to the winner. Regular racing will return for the MHC Inc. E-Mods, along with the Steel Block Late Models, and Street Stock. Grandstand General Admission for this special show will be $20, but if you have a ticket stub from the August 3 or August 10 program, you can save $5 off of the General Admission price that day.
A four-division program will be presented on Friday, August 24, as it will be Greg Sweet Auto Dealership Night. The Grand Finale program on Friday, August 31 will round out point competition for 2001, as a Fireworks display will also be presented. The season will end on Friday, September 7 with a Triathlon Racing Series doubleheader. The York Sprint cars will make a visit, marking the first unlimited sprint car race since 1994. The Modifieds will run the longest event in their history, as the main will run a 100-lap distance.
The gates for all programs open at 5:30, with racing starting at 7:30. Raceway 7 is located six miles south of Interstate 90 on Ohio Route 7. Friday, August 31 - Grand Finale. Four-division racing, points end. Hub-City Qualifier for the Super Late Models. Plus fireworks.
Friday, September 7 * - FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT. York Triathlon Sprint car Series, and "THE 100," 100 laps for York Triathlon Series Modifieds.
