HOBBY STOCKS WILL KICK OFF THE KING OF THE HILL SERIES THIS SUNDAY ON
COCA-COLA NIGHT AT NEBRASKA RACEWAY PARK
August 1, 2001 - Greenwood, Neb. - It has been an exciting inaugural year so
far at Nebraska Raceway Park with hard, competitive racing in all four
divisions. The heart of the season is now upon us, and the racing action is
sure to be intense as the season points championships are up for grabs in
all divisions. Bonus racing action begins this weekend as COCA-COLA
presents the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series.
The 76 RACING GAS King of the Hill Series begins on Sunday as JASPER ENGINES
AND TRANSMISSIONS presents the Hobby Stock King of the Hill competition.
The top eight points leaders in the Hobby Stock division will race in
two-lap elimination races. The #1 driver in the current points standings
will be matched up against the #8 driver, #2 will run against #7 and so on.
The winner of each race will go on to the next round to face the next
competitor until just two are left. The King of the Hill finals for all
four divisions are scheduled for Sunday, September 2.
In addition to the first King of the Hill competition of the year, the
NASCAR Super Late Models, Walker Uniform Rental Grand Nationals, O'Reilly
Auto Parts Pro-Ams and Jasper Engines and Transmissions Hobby Stocks will be
competing in their always thrilling weekly show. Throughout the night fans
will be entertained by racing action, music and more along with great prize
giveaways throughout the night from COCA-COLA and Nebraska Raceway Park.
The front gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with racing starting at 6:00 p.m..
Adult admission is $9, senior citizens are $7, kids 6-12 $2 and 5 and under
Nebraska Raceway Park is a .4 mile, semi-banked dirt oval featuring the
NASCAR Weekly Racing Series every Sunday night April through September plus
specials including the Pennzoil World of Outlaws, NSCA Sprint Car Series, O'
Reilly Auto Parts All-Star Series and more. Directions to NRP: Take I-80
to Exit #420 between Omaha and Lincoln, then go north just ½ mile and you
