33rd Hillbilly 100 at Tyler County Speedway Set For September 2nd and 3rd

(Middlebourne, WV) The West Virginia Labor Day weekend tradition
continues on September 3rd and 4th as the Fastest 1/4 Mile of Dirt in the
East roars to life with the 33rd Annual HILLBILLY 100. The 2001 HILLBILLY
100 looks to be better than ever with the winner taking home a tremendous
$25,000. The high banks and lightning quick surface will provide race fans
and drivers alike with excitement that only the Hillbilly 100 can provide.
In 1998 the Hillbilly 100 moved to it's current home, Tyler County
Speedway in Middlebourne, WV. Ever since, it has been at the top of
everyone's "must see" list of Premier Late Model events.
Steve Shaver of Parkersburg, WV out-dueled Donnie Moran and Rick
Aukland for the HILLBILLY 100 Title in 1998 posting the biggest and most
prestigious win in his career. Davey Johnson of Greensburg, PA notched the
HILLBILLY 100 victory in 1999 holding off all charges from the best in the
business which included Scott Bloomquist, Steve Francis, Billy Moyer, Steve
Shaver, Mike Balzano and a host of others.. In 2000, Davey Johnson made it
back-to-back Hillbilly 100 Victories with a dominating 100-lap performance.
Johnson will be looking to "three-peat" while a host of others will be
gunning for the best one-day Super late model payoff in the world. Who will
it be to claim the HILLBILLY 100 $25,000 winners share in 2001? Make plans
to be a part of this West Virginia Tradition and see first hand some of the
most exciting racing action you'll ever see on the fastest 1/4 mile dirt
oval in the east.
Also scheduled for the weekend, the HILLBILLY 50 for the Steel Block
Late Models, paying $2,500 to win. The WHITE LIGHTIN 25 for Modifieds, the
SOUR MASH 20 for the Street Stocks, and the LIL' HILLBILLY 20 for the Pure
