AUGUST HAS A FULL MONTH OF EXCITEMENT AT HAGERSTOWN
HAGERSTOWN, MD. August will be another big month of live motorsports
excitement at the Hagerstown Speedway. Promoter Frank Plessinger has a
full schedule of racing action for race fans of all ages.
Hagerstown will kick off the month on Saturday night, August 4th with
the Richard Bonebrake Memorial for the ITSI late models. The 35-lap
feature, rescheduled from May 26th, will pay $2,000 to the winner.
Joining the late models will be the late model sportsman, pure stocks
and 30-lap enduro dash. Race time is 7 P.M.
Two-wheel excitement comes to the speedway on Saturday night, August
11th, with the American Motorcyclist Association Grand National 21st
Annual Home Depot Hub-City Classic plus 883 Series. Race time for the
motorcycle doubleheader is 8 P.M. Rain date for the Hub-City Classic is
the next day, Sunday afternoon, August 12th at 1 P.M.
The following weekend, Saturday night August 18th, the Renegade STARS
late model series will make its third visit of the year for the
Conococheague 100. The 100-lap event, sponsored by Hagerstown Ford,
will pay $10,000 to the winner. Joining the late models will be summer
championships for the late model sportsman, pure stocks and 4-cyl pure
stocks. Race time is 7 P.M.
On Saturday night, August 25th, it will be Small Fry Night with rides
in the race cars for kids under 12. Headlining the four feature program
will be the 5th Annual Cornett Memorial for the pure stocks. The late
models, late model sportsman and 4-cyl pure stocks will be part of the
special program along with the enduro dash rescheduled from June 2nd.
Race time is 7 P.M.
The late models are sponsored by Industrial Towel & Supply, Inc while
Hoosier Tire/Mid-Atlantic supports the late model sportsman division.
Ernie's Salvage Yard sponsors the pure stocks.
