New Egypt Opens Infield For Outlaws Event
New Egypt, NJ (July 20) -- With all grandstand seating close to sold out,
Sprint car fans who didn't nab tickets for New Egypt Speedway's
national-profile Pennzoil World of Outlaws event on Monday, July 30,
presented by CARQUEST Auto Parts, will get a second chance: Pit passes,
which afford entrants a standing-room-only view of the race from the
infield, are on sale now.
"We are going to try our best not to turn anyone away," said promoter Howard
Commander, who is partnering with New Egypt owners Rick and Nancy Grosso to
present the Outlaws blockbuster.
The ticket frenzy for this World of Outlaws race began as soon as the date
was confirmed by WoO president Ted Johnson in mid-December. As the first and
only Garden State stop on the Outlaws tour in over a decade, the phone lines
were afire when tickets for the event went on sale in mid-March, with fans
fighting for the chance to see national Sprint car heroes like Steve and
Mark Kinser, Danny Lasoski, Jac Haudenschild, Andy Hillenburg, Stevie Smith,
Craig Dollansky and more in ground-pounding action on Jersey soil.
The $35 pit pass will provide access to the pit area and a fenced-in area of
the infield where entrants can view the race. Concessions and sanitary
facilities will be provided. Pit passes can be purchased in advance at the
main office on Saturday nights, or at the track's back gate on race day. As
per New Jersey state law, pit entrants must be 17 or older, with photo
Gates will open at 2 pm on July 30 for New Egypt Speedway's "Greatest Show
on Dirt," sponsored by CARQUEST Auto Parts -- the Pennzoil World of Outlaws
Sprint car series with a 20-lap Sportsman Invitational undercard. Sprints
will warm up at 5:30 pm, with time trials starting at 6 pm.
New Egypt Speedway is located minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure and the
New Jersey Turnpike. For more information, call the track at (609) 758-1900.
