Excel adds top Stock rookies to 2001 contingency program
VINTON, Iowa (June 15) - The top rookie I.M.C.A. Sunoco Stock Car drivers in both regions will receive contingency awards, as part of the expanded Excel Racing Wheels program for 2001.
Rookies of the year in both the Destroyer Chassis Southern Region and the SCS Fabricating Northern Region will receive $50 product certificates, good toward the purchase of four Excel race wheels.
Excel manufactures a race wheel designed for the IM.C.A. Sunoco Modified and Stock Car divisions.
As a special events sponsor, the Twin Lakes, Wis., company will also award $50 product certificates, applicable in the purchase of four race wheels, at each race in the Midwest Motorsports Best of the Midwest Series for I.M.C.A. Sunoco Stock Cars, and at all 25 National Modified Series events this season. The Modified portion of the Excel program is more than doubled from last year.
"The Excel Racing Wheel contingencies are an important part of our Midwest Motorsports Best of the Midwest Stock Car Series and our National Modified Series," I.M.C.A. Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. "The Excel program gives us depth at each series event, allowing us to provide more benefits for racers finishing in the Top 10."

Racers do not have to run Excel wheels to be eli-gible for the contingencies; their only require-ment is to display two Ex-cel decals during the season.
