RACE NIGHT TO BE HELD IN SYLVAN BEACH ON THURSDAY JUNE 28

SYLVAN BEACH, NY – A race night will be held in Sylvan Beach on Thursday June 28 in conjunction with the popular weekly crusin’ night for hot rods and classic cars.

Racecars from area speedways are invited to attend this event, which will give drivers a chance to showcase their racers and promote their sponsors as well in a relaxing and comfortable setting in front of thousands of people, right along the shores of beautiful Oneida Lake!

Representatives of the local Utica-Rome, Brewerton, and Fulton Speedways will be on hand with promotional materials and to answer questions about upcoming events. In addition, the fine folks from Gater Racing Photo News and the New York State Stock Car Association will be on hand as well.

Drivers are encouraged to bring their cars and families to this exciting event, and you can expect at least a dozen of the area race teams to be on hand. Throughout the evening, the drivers will be available for autographs and photos with their racecars. It will definitely be a relaxing family function, as there are many popular restaurants as well as the famous Sylvan Beach Amusement Park all within walking distance.

Just last year at the inaugural cruise, fifteen racecars were on hand along with well over 600 classic cars and hot rods, making it a perfect enjoyable night for gearheads.

The racing area of the cruise night will be located just behind Canal View Café, along the Barge Canal and pier.

All participating raceteams should arrive around 5 or shortly thereafter, as the show begins at 6pm. In addition, please let show organizer Jon Button know ahead of time you are planning to attend with your racecar and he will give you instructions for parking of the haulers and the planned shuttle service.

Sylvan Beach is located at the east side of Oneida Lake on Route 13, and it is conveniently located just minutes from the NYS Thruway Exit 34.

For more information, please contact show organizer Jon Button at 687-6565.
