Hot Mods Go Topless At New Egypt
New Egypt, NJ (June 15) -- Take it off. . .take it all off. . . And that's
just what the Modified and Sportsman race cars are going to do on Saturday
night, June 23. Get ready for Art's Radiator Topless Night at New Egypt
Speedway, and watch the cars strip down and go at it on the half-mile
For the June 23 event, both the Modified and Sportsman classes will race
without roofs, giving fans a chance to watch their favorite drivers twist
the wheel and get wild in real open-cockpit fashion. The Topless Night theme
will carry over into the grandstands, too: to add to the fun, fans and
friends are encouraged to bring their classic convertibles to the track that
evening. The vintage ragtop street cars will be on display in a roped-off
area of the parking lot pre-race, and then some will take a parade lap
around the track prior to the topless feature events.
"Always something different that involves the fans. That's what we try to do
every week at New Egypt," said track owner Rick Grosso Sr.
And there's more great entertainment upcoming at New Egypt Speedway. On June
30, Pepsi will present the Big Bang 40 for the Modifieds, with Sportsman,
Street Stocks and a spectacular fireworks display also on the pre-holiday
bill. As an added bonus, Pepsi will bring Jeff Gordon's Winston Cup car to
the party, for fan photo ops. Then on July 7, it's Grand Slam Little League
Night, sponsored by Mid-State Communications. Little Leaguers in uniform,
ages 7-12, will be admitted free that night, and the drivers will join the
game and "batter up"-- every competitor who hits a pitch out of the park
will receive $50 from Mid-State Communications!
Don't miss any of these special theme nights at New Egypt Speedway. Action
gets underway at 6:30 pm on June 23 for Topless Night, sponsored by Art's
Radiator of Flemington. The open-air Mods and Sportsman will be joined by
the Street Stocks, in an extra-distance race awarding double points. And
bring your vintage convertible!
Adult admission is $13, children 7-12 are $4, and kids 6 and under are
always free. The speedway is located on Route 539, minutes from Six Flags
Great Adventure and the NJ Turnpike. For more information, call (609)
