Newberrytown, PA: Susquehanna Speedway will open its doors for the 2001 season on Tuesday, July 3. The annual return of the 410 sprints at the York County oval will once again host the finale for the ever-popular PA Speedweek. Harry's U-Pull-It of West Hazleton and their spokes-model, Angel Hoffman, will host the traditional event.

Added to this year's program will be the super late models. Strong support from area late model drivers and multi-track champion, Scotty Haus, will head a large list of drivers anxious for the super lates long awaited return. The late models will kick-off the evening at 7:00 PM with heat races and will finish the program with a 25-lap feature paying $1,000 to win.

Especially happy that Susquehanna continues to be part of the PA Speedweek is two-time defending winner of the event, Cris Eash. Eash has taken a special liking to the fast oval. The sprinters will take their qualification times after the late model heats approximately at 7:30 PM.

A special raindate has been arranged for the event for the next day, Wednesday, July 4th with the same time schedule. For the fifth consecutive year, the two-division show will maintain it's affordable grandstand and pit prices without any increase.

Late Models will run a 2200 lbs. weight rule with any 92" circumference tire. 358 limited lates may compete with a 100-pound weight advantage.

Susquehanna is particularly glad to have Harry's U-Pull-It be part of their racing schedule for the second consecutive season. "They are very enthusiastic and Angel is one of the finest hosts anywhere," says promoter, Vince Vicari. "The fans just love her." She will be available to greet both the spectators and the pit personnel when the gates open at 5:00 PM.
