OšREILLY AUTO PARTS ALL-STAR SERIES RACES TO HARLAN, IOWA, JUNE 26
Nebraska driver Kyle Berck will try to make it three wins in a row

HARLAN, IOWA (June 8, 2001) Kyle Berck will be shooting for his third OšReilly Auto Parts All-Star Series, NASCAR Touring win in a row when NASCARšs only dirt track touring series heads to Shelby County Speedway on Tuesday, June 26. It will be the first time the series, which originated in 1985, has appeared at the three-eights-mile oval in western Iowa.
Berck, of Marquette, Neb., will be coming off back-to-back OšReilly Auto Parts All-Star Series wins. Berck finished second to Ed Kosiski in a May 25 race in Denison, Iowa. Then he capped off the three-race holiday weekend with victories May 26 in Corning, Iowa, and May 27 in Greenwood, Neb.
Berck leads Ed Kosiski in the current point standings 814 to 795. Other top point-getters are Joe Kosiski, 748; Ray Guss Jr., 720; and Sonny Findling, 707.
ŗWe really enjoy this series,˛ Berck, 32, said recently. ŗHopefully this season we can race to the championship. Itšs going to be exciting right to the end.˛
The highlight of the racing at the Shelby County Speedway on June 26 will be the Shelby 50, which pays the winner $4,000 from a purse of $23,235. The night of racing is being promoted by SHK Promotions Inc.
Registration and inspection open at 3 p.m. June 26. A driversš meeting is set for 6:45. Practice, at 7 p.m., will be followed by qualifying races.
Joining Ed Kosiski and Berck as winners of OšReilly Auto Parts All-Star Series races held so far this season are defending champion Steve Boley, who won April 8 in Davenport, Iowa, and Brian Birkhofer, the winner of an April 20 race in Dubuque, Iowa.
The OšReilly Auto Parts All-Star Series is one of nine NASCAR Touring Series that blanket the United States, bringing special events to many NASCAR Weekly Racing Series tracks and some NASCAR superspeedways and road courses. NASCAR Touring Series can provide a competitor with an entire career, or they can provide valuable experience to competitors moving through the NASCAR ranks. Corporate sponsors make significant contributions to NASCAR Touring Series point funds. The sponsors include R.J. Reynolds, Anheuser-Busch, Featherlite Trailers, Goodyšs Headache Powders, OšReilly Auto Parts, Raybestos Brakes and RE/MAX International Inc.
