358 MODIFIEDS MAKE RETURN VISIT TO GASPORT SPEEDWAY

June 17th the 358 Modifieds will be welcomed back to Gasport
Int'l Speedway as it will be their first visit back to the 4/10 mile
clay oval since June 25, 1995. The first of 7 Modified programs will be
sponsored by Mel Swart the very popular retired Member of Parliment.
Swart who has been a big booster of racing in the Niagara Peninsula has
had recent minor surgery and will be sponsoring a five division program
which will be headlined by a 358 Modified Syracuse Qualifier.The June
17th program will also be carried by Cogeco Cable TV. Time trials were
held on May 27th with Pete Bicknell setting fast time along with
Hometown favorite Greg Panunte as they will lea the field to the green.
Six other 358 programs will be presented at Gasport for the
2001 season and they will take place on July 1st which will be presented
by Competition Speed & Supplies and it will be the 2nd Syracuse
Qualifier. July 8 will see the 3rd visit as the Pt Colborne and
Wainfleet Firefighters will have their Annual Tug O War vs the drivers.
July 22nd will host the 358s along with July 29. The Kacey Lynn
Fundraising Committee will have round 6 of the 358s on August 19 and
they will have their Gasport 358 finale on August 26th. It promises to
be an action filled season a the Pt Colborne Speedplant.
The pit will open at 4:30 on Sundays and the grandstands at 5:00

GASPORT SPEEDWAY WELCOMES COGECO CABLE FOR FOURTH SEASON

Gasport Int'l Speedway is proud to welcome the return of Racing
Niagara for it's fourth season. The first of six programs will be
presented on June 17th and it will be greated by the return of the 358
Modifieds. The program will carry double points for all classes.
Promoter Al Wagner says "We are thrilled to bring our races to such a
wide area from Ft Erie to the Stoney Creek area". Wagner adds "It's
great exposure for all of our drivers who put forth so much effort".
Cogeco tapes the feature events for later viewing during the week.
Other taping dates June 24th will be the Hoosier Tire Mr. DIRT
Prostock Tour event which will bring in the top Pro Stocks from the
Northeast along with the Midstate Vintage Antique Car Club. July 1st
which will be another Syracuse Qulifier. July 8 will host the annual
Pt.Colborne vs Wainfleet Firefighters Tug O War. July 15th will be a
Tour event for the Dig Safely Mr.DIRT Sportsman. July 29th will be the
2nd of 2 Syracuse Qualifers. The month of August 19th wll be the Kacey
Lynn Fundraising Commitee and Cogeco will round out their scheduled for
August 26th as it will be the finale for the 358 Modifieds for 2001.
Cogeco and Gasport look forward to seeing you at the races with
racing begining at 6:30 with gates opening at 4:30 in the pits and the
