The Coca Cola 40 This Friday Night at Green Valley Speedway!
Gadsden, Alabama-Green Valley Speedway will host the Coca Cola 40 this
Friday night for the Kilpatrick Chevrolet Super Late Models. The drivers
will be vying for a $3,000 first place prize. A twenty-four car-starting
field is planned. All local divisions will be in action including the
intense Vinson Racing Engines Sportsman division.
Drivers expected to be on hand for the Championship event Friday night
include popular Mark Bangs who is still searching for that GVS Super Late
Model victory along with defending GVS Super Late Model Track Champion Danny
Peoples, plus fan favorite "The Rocket Man" Jon Miller, and "The Chief" Jody
Summerville of Rome, Georgia.
A strong Georgia contingent is expected as "The Headman" Mike Head of
Ellenwood, Clint Smith of Senoia, The Armisteads, Shane Tankersly plus
drivers from Tennessee expected including Patrick Duggan and John Llewellyn.
Other local drivers expected include TJ Alford, Greg Skinner, Bucket
Stewart, Robert Gant, Jason Hiett, Terry Smith, Zack Nichols, plus many
The rules and format will follow those of the Southern All Star Super Late
Model Series. The format calls for Super Late Model Pole Qualifying with top
16 qualifiers being locked in. The remainder of the twenty four-car field
will be filled out with one or two B-Mains dictated by car count.
The 40-lap Super Late Model main event will be run as the second main event
of the night.
Pit gates open at 5pm with driver's meeting at 7pm and hot laps at 7:20pm.
Adult admission is $15. No additional charge for trackside parking.
Student admission is $10
Children under 10 admitted for free.
Pit passes are $20
Coolers and lawn chairs are welcome. Family section seating is available.
Those with pit passes may also access the infield to enjoy the racing
action. Track broadcast on FM 96.7.
The Speedway is located between Hwy 77 (left at Shell station in Southside
from the north) and US 431(right from the north) on Green Valley Road.
