Deery, Midwest series bound for Boone on Memorial Day
BOONE, Iowa - One I.M.C.A. series returns to familiar turf on Memorial Day, while another makes its first-ever ap-pearance at the Boone, Iowa, Speedway.
The Deery Brothers Summer Series for I.M.C.A. Sunoco Late Models and the Midwest Motorsports Best of the Mid-west Series for I.M.C.A. Sunoco Stock will be paired in the Monday, May 28 program at Boone.
The Midwest Series is traveling to Boone for the first time, while the Late Model tour pays its 17th visit. A dozen of those previous events were held in conjunction with Super Nationals.
"Boone is something like a Mecca for the Stock Car division," I.M.C.A. Vice President of Operations Brett Root said. "The combination of Stock Cars and Late Models is a great one for fans planning to attend a special event during the Memorial Day holiday."
Gary Webb owns four series wins at Boone, all of them during Super Nationals Week. Jeff Aikey, Curt Martin and Kevin Pittman each have won two series events there.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. on race day at Boone. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m.
