COMPUTER WAREHOUSE JOINS DOUG GRIMALDI RACING AS MAIN SPONSOR
KIRKLAND, NY – The Computer Warehouse, located on Route 5 in Kirkland just east of the Utica-Rome Speedway, has signed on with Doug Grimaldi Racing as the main sponsor for the 2001 season of DIRT Pro Stock action at the speedway.
"I am looking forward to representing Computer Warehouse with some good runs and maybe even a win this season at Utica-Rome," said Grimaldi, a sophomore driver in the Pro Stock class.
Computer Warehouse is a full service computer center featuring complete and custom built systems, programs, full training, maintenance contracts, consulting, and upgrades.
Last season as a rookie in the Pro Stock ranks at Utica-Rome, he finished tenth in the final points standings and was honored by the New York State Stock Car Association (NYSSCA) as the Newcomer of the Year in the competitive division. The year before, Grimaldi, who attended the Bob McCreadie driving school, was a rookie in the Pure Stocks, and came home with one feature win as well as the NYSSCA Newcomer of the Year award.
This year, Grimaldi will have a brand new Slawiak chassis at his disposal with a motor built by BHE Racing Engines. The 1999 Grand Prix body will be covered in Computer Warehouse colors, and the Grimaldi team is very excited about the upcoming year with the new car.
Also sponsoring the Grimaldi team this season include Utica businesses Greater Electric, Gotte Construction, and Precision Collison as well as E.V. Roofing in Kirkland and Victory Signs in Sylvan Beach.
