"Mountain Momma 100"Champion Will Be Crowned Mothers Day Weekend
(Middlebourne, WV) The "Mountain Momma 100" Mothers Day weekend started in
1999 with Bart Hartman claiming the inaugural victory. In 2000 Steve
Francis posted the win in dominating fashion. Who will it be in 2001, is
the question all race fans are asking? The Mothers Day racing spectacular
has made the move to the "Fastest ¼ Mile Dirt Oval in the East", Tyler
County Speedway this Saturday and Sunday. The 2001 champion will be crowned
on Sunday May 13th in this "must see" Super Late Model Major event. The
high-banked lightning fast surface is set to produce the most exciting
racing action in the history of this event. Race fans will be treated to
the lightning and thunder of the best racers in the business on May 12th and
13th in the 3rd Annual Mountain Momma 100.
Tyler County Speedway officials have once again made the Mountain Momma 100
a qualifying event for the 2001 Hillbilly 100 on Labor Day weekend and the
Dirt Track World Championship on October 20th and 21st. In addition, the
Steel Block Late Models will have their shot at qualifying for the Mountain
Momma 100 and the Hillbilly 50 on Labor Day weekend.
The Mountain Momma racing program starts on Saturday May 12th with gates
opening at Noon and Hot Laps scheduled for 6:15pm. A full racing program is
scheduled for the Steel Block Late Models.
The Steel Blocks will qualify, run heats and consolation races. The AMRA
"Road Warrior Tour" Modifieds, Street Stocks and the Pure Stocks will run
heats and consolation races. The grand finale on Saturday will be the
$2,000 to Win, 50 lap Feature for the Steel Block Late Models.
On Sunday May 13th the gates open at Noon with Hot Laps scheduled for
2:00pm. The action heats up again
as the Super late Models invade the "Fastest ¼ mile Dirt Oval in the East."
Time trials, heats and consolation
races will make way for the 3rd Annual Mountain Momma 100 paying $10,000 to
win. The racing program
will reach its peak with the crowning of the 2001 Champion. In addition,
the AMRA "Road Warrior Tour" Modifieds and Street Stocks will be gunning for
the $1,000 winners check and the Pure Stocks set their sights
on the $500 to win top prize.
2-Day General Admission is $25, Sunday only General Admission is $20 and Pit
Passes are $35. General Admission for ages 6 to 12 is $5 and children under
6 are admitted FREE with a paying adult. Camping is available.
The entry fee for the Super late Models is $40. There is no entry fee for
the Steel Block Late Models, AMRA "Road Warrior Tour" Modifieds, Street
Stocks and Pure Stocks.
