Mountain Momma 100 Named Qualifier for the Hillbilly 100 and DTWC
(Middlebourne, WV) Tyler County Speedway officials have made the Mountain
Momma 100 a qualifying event for the 2001 Hillbilly 100 on Labor Day weekend
and the Dirt Track World Championship on October 20th and 21st. In
addition, the Steel Block Late Models will have their shot at qualifying for
the Mountain Momma 100 and the Hillbilly 50 on Labor Day weekend.
The Super Late Model winner or highest finisher in the Mountain Momma 100
who fails to qualify in either the Hillbilly 100 or the DTWC will be added
to the starting field in each of these prestigious events. Traditionally
the Hillbilly 100 and the DTWC are two of the most difficult races to earn a
starting position. The opportunity to earn an automatic starting position
for these two Super Late Model major events is extremely valuable.
The Steel Block Late Models have an added incentive. The winner of the
50-lap feature on Saturday May 12th earns a starting position in the
Mountain Momma 100 on Sunday May 13th. All Steel Block Late Models that
take the track on Saturday will not have to pay the entry fee for the
Mountain Momma 100 on Sunday. An added bonus for the winner or the highest
finisher in the 50-lap feature on May 12th is, they will be qualified for a
starting spot in the Hillbilly 50 for Steel Block Late Models on Labor Day
The Mountain Momma racing program starts on Saturday May 12th with gates
opening at Noon and Hot Laps scheduled for 6:15pm. A full racing program is
scheduled for the Steel Block Late Models. The Modifieds, Street Stocks and
the Pure Stocks will run heats and consolation races. The grand finale on
Saturday will be the $2,000 to Win, 50 lap Feature for the Steel Block Late
On Sunday May 13th the gates open at Noon with Hot Laps scheduled for
2:00pm. The action heats up again as the Super late Models invade the
"Fastest ¼ mile Dirt Oval in the East." Time trials, heats and consolation
races will make way for the 3rd Annual Mountain Momma 100 paying $10,000 to
win. The racing program will reach its peak with the crowning of the 2001
Champion. In addition, the Modifieds and Street Stocks will be gunning for
the $1,000 winners check and the Pure Stocks set their sights on the $500 to
win top prize.
2-Day General Admission is $25, Sunday only General Admission is $20 and Pit
Passes are $35. General Admission for ages 6 to 12 is $5 and children under
6 are admitted FREE with a paying adult. Based on the two previous Mountain
Mommas, these admission prices reflect a $5 saving, which is a real bonus
for race fans. Camping is available.
