World Mini Grand Prix brings dirt-slinging action to LVMS this week

LAS VEGAS – Motocross riders from 40 states and eight countries will compete in the 30th annual World Mini Grand Prix this Wednesday through Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s motocross track.

This event, the world’s largest for motocross, is known for providing up-and-coming riders an opportunity to exhibit skills to big-name sponsors. Nationally known riders Jeff Ward, Jeremy McGrath and Travis Pastrana all began successful careers competing in the World Mini.

Riders will compete for over $100,000 in contingency awards, products, cash and trophies.

Practice begins Thursday at 7 a.m. and racing is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. Racing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday also is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. Tickets are available daily at the motocross facility gate. Admission for Thursday through Sunday is $40, Friday–Sunday is $38, Saturday and Sunday is $24 and Sunday only is $12.

Thursday 4/19: 7 a.m. World Mini practice begins (Motocross track)

2 p.m. World Mini events begin (Motocross track)

Friday 4/20: 7 a.m. World Mini events begin (Motocross track)

2 p.m. gates open, Test ‘n’ Tune (The Strip)

Saturday 4/21: 7 a.m. World Mini events begin (Motocross track)

12 p.m. gates open, PSCA Qualifying and National Performance Center E.T. Bracket Series (The Strip)

6 p.m. Air MX Challenge Series spectator gates open (˝-mile dirt track)

7:30 p.m. Air MX Challenge Series event begins (1/2-mile dirt track)

Sunday 4/22: 7 a.m. World Mini events begin (Motocross track)

8 a.m. gates open, PSCA and open Test ‘n’ Tune (The Strip)
