Excitement Building for 3rd Annual Mountain Momma 100 at Tyler County
Race fans everywhere are gearing up for the Super Late Model Spectacular,
The 3rd Annual Mountain Momma 100 on May 12th and 13th at Tyler County
Speedway. The first two Mountain Momma 100's had the absolute best in the
Super Late Model business compete for top honors. The 2001 Mountain Momma
has the ingredients to be the most competitive and exciting race in it's
three-year history. With the fastest cars and the best drivers hooked up on
a high banked quarter mile dirt oval, this race is a" must see" for every
Super Late Model fan. The "Fastest Quarter Mile Oval in the East" will
roar to life with the 3rd running of the Mountain Momma 100. The Super Late
Models will set their sights on the $10,000 to win, in the 100 Lap main
event on Sunday May 13th.
The Mountain Momma racing program kicks off on Saturday with heat and
consolation events for the Modifieds, Street Stocks and the Pure Stocks. In
addition the Steel Block Late Models will run a full racing program,
including time trials, heats, consolation races and the A-main. The grand
finale on Saturday will be the $2,000 to Win, 50 lap Feature for the Steel
Block Late Models.
The 2001 Mountain Momma 100 paying $10,000 to Win, for Super Late Models
sets the tone for the Sunday of excitement. The one-day format provides the
best in the Super Late Model business, the opportunity to test their skills
and machinery in the 3rd running of this major Super Late Model event.
Inaugural winner Bart Hartman of Zanesville, OH and 2000 Mountain Momma 100
Champion Steve Francis of Ashland, KY are looking to be the first ever
repeat winners of the Mountain Momma 100. In addition to the full racing
program for the Super Late Models, feature racing is scheduled for the
Modifieds, Street Stocks and the Pure Stocks.
Gates open on Saturday May 12th at Noon with Hot Laps set for 6:15pm.
Racing is set to begin at the conclusion of Hot Laps.
On Sunday May 13th gates open at Noon, Hot Laps are scheduled for 2:00pm,
with Time Trials for the Super Late Models set to follow. The crowning of
the 2001 Mountain Momma 100 Champion will be the high point of this 3rd
annual racing spectacular.
Tyler County Speedway hosts five classes of racing every Saturday night. The
"Topless 50" paying $3,000 to Win, for Super Late Models is set for April
21st. The "Topless 50" has been a fan and driver favorite for years. The
"Topless" format gives the fans an inside view of the race car driver
putting in an evening at the office. Come experience the excitement of "The
