Dodge County Fairgrounds has something for everyone in 2001!

By: Dale Norenberg

No matter what your taste, the Dodge County Fairgrounds is sure to have something planned for the 2001 season that will interest you! An overview of the attractions this year will be; IRA Outlaw Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, DCRA Pure Stocks, AMA Dirt Bikes, Junior Hot Rods, A HUGE Fireworks Show, NTPA National Truck and Tractor Pull & of course the Dodge County Fair with Big Name Entertainment!

The 2001 season will be launched with a SUPER FAST show from the IRA Outlaw Sprints on April 28th. They approach speeds of 120+ miles per hour on the big ˝ Mile of Power! Also racing that night will be the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Stock Cars. Next comes the Regular Season Opener on May 5th that kicks off the regular season of racing each Saturday Night at the Speedway.

A very popular addition in 2000, the Junior Hot Rods will be expanded for this season to a total of six cars. Each car is locally sponsored and raced each weekend at 6:30 before racing begins. The addition of two new cars will allow more kids to participate and help us meet the increasing demand of this new class just for kids 4-8 yrs old. Superior Glacier Ridge Landfill and Bergstrom Ford of Beaver Dam will be joining the current field sponsored by: Beaver Dam Trophy and Engraving, Domino’s Pizza, Professional Floor Covering and Falbe Collision and Automotive Center.

You will find two new programs at the Speedway for this season… The Charter Digital Cable Question of the Night will allow fans to interact with drivers throughout the 2001 season. Fans fill out question forms for their favorite driver, then one is drawn at intermission and the driver is interviewed right there on the spot! The second program is the addition of the Americinn “All That Way, Race All Day, Let’s Hit the Hay!” This will be awarded to the farthest traveled race fan and will give them a discounted room on their next trip.

The 2001 Dodge County Fair will have some of the best entertainment ever! With big name country artists performing on the main stage at 8pm each night; Neal McCoy (Wednesday), The Charlie Daniels Band (Thursday), Toby Keith (Friday) and Montgomery Gentry (Saturday) you won’t want to miss this years event! In addition to big name entertainment you will find great sideshows, rides, games & the Area’s Largest Demo Derby on Sunday afternoon! Plan to attend the Dodge County Fair, August 15th-19th, 2001. For more additional fair information call (920) 885-3586.

Overall, a great season planned for the Dodge County Fairgrounds including a great line-up for the County Fair and a great Racing Program for the race fans!
