Tyler County Speedway Set To Host 3rd Annual Mountain Momma 100
On May 12th and 13th the finest race cars and drivers in the land will put
everything on the line at Tyler County Speedway, the "Fastest Quarter Mile
Oval" in the East, in the 3rd running of the Mountain Momma 100. The Super
Late Models will shoot it out in the $10,000 to win, 100 Lap main event on
Sunday May 13th.
Once again the Road Warrior Modifieds and the Street Stocks will be a part
of the racing program.
Racing classes added to the Mountain Momma event include the Steel Block
Late Models and the Pure Stocks. The Steel Block Late Models will be
gunning for the $2000 top prize, the winners share for the Modifieds is
$1000, the Street Stocks will race for the $1000 to win checkers and the
Pure Stocks will test their skills in the $500 to win feature event.
The 2001 Mountain Momma 100 will again be a two-day program with some
additions and changes which will provide race fans with feature racing on
both Saturday and Sunday. The Super Late Models will run their complete
Mountain Momma 100 program on Sunday May 13th. The one-day, $10,000 to win
format will allow the best in the Super late model business to make their
way to the 3rd running of this major Super Late Model event. Inaugural
winner Bart Hartman of Zanesville, OH and 2000 Mountain Momma 100 Champion
Steve Francis of Ashland, KY are looking to be the first ever repeat winners
of the Mountain Momma 100.
Gates open on Saturday May 12th at Noon with Hot Laps set for 6:15pm. The
schedule of events for Saturday includes the complete Steel Block Late Model
Show, culminating with the 50 lap, $2000 to win Feature. The Modifieds,
Street Stocks and the Pure Stocks will run their Heat and Consolation
On Sunday May 13th gates open at Noon, Hot Laps are scheduled for 2:00pm,
with Time Trials for
the Super Late Models set to follow. Super Late Model Heats and Consi are
scheduled along with Features for the Modifieds, Street Stocks, and the Pure
Stocks. The crowning of the 2001 Mountain Momma 100 Champion will be the
high point of this 3rd annual racing spectacular.
Tyler County Speedway hosts five classes of racing every Saturday night.
Upcoming Super late Model events before the Mountain Momma 100 include the
Spring Fling paying $1200 to win on April 14th and on April 21st the $3000
to win Topless 50. Tyler County Speedway welcomes all race fans to come and
celebrate their Silver Anniversary of racing excitement. Come experience
the lightning and thunder of the fastest quarter mile of dirt in the East.
