Rain throughout the day Thursday and Friday morning forced cancellation of this evening's scheduled program for the I.M.C.A. Sunoco Late Models. Promoter Ron Jackson remained hopeful that forecasts for more accommodating temperatures on Saturday would be accurate and that the scheduled program could be run in its entirety tomorrow night. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Saturday at 34 Raceway. Hot laps are set for approxi-mately 6:30 p.m., with the first heat races at 7 p.m. Defending series champion Mike Smith of Jewell won the series opener last Sunday at Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City. That race had also been postponed a day because of wet weather. Three more Deery Series races are scheduled at West Burlington this season, on Aug. 15-16, Sept. 1 and Sept. 8.
