EAST WINDSOR SPEEDWAY STOCK CAR RACERS HAVE A LOT
TO SHOOT FOR WHEN SEASON OPENS THIS FRIDAY (APRIL 6)

EAST WINDSOR, N.J. ~ Large fields of competitors in the Small-Block Modified,
Sportsman and Street Stock divisions are expected when the East Windsor
Speedway opens the 2001 season this Friday evening (April 6) at 7:30 p.m. and
with good reason. In addition to lucrative weekly purses, a large array of
sponsors have stepped up for contingency awards and the end of the year point
fund.

Track officials, led by track owner Don "Butch" Jones, Jr. and promoter
Jack Simmons, have confirmed that Hoosier Tires will return as the official
tire at the track. A-1 Racing Products, Kramer Performance Engines, Jones
Racing Products, Nickerson Performance Racing Carburetors, Spin Trap
Performance Mufflers, Mudd Off, Nelds Steering, Fuel Safe, Outerwears and
Budd Olsen Speed Supplies are all on board as 2001 East Windsor Speedway
point fund and contingency sponsors.

The list of competitors is long and impressive. In the Modifieds where
Veteran Jimmy Horton was champion last year, drivers like Kenny Brightbill,
Billy Pauch and Doug Hoffman are all expected to be fighting for the crown
this year. In fact, competition will be stronger than ever since the
Big-Block Modifieds will be making a return to the track after an absence of
many seasons. The Big- Blocks will battle the Small-Blocks on a weekly basis.

Al Cheney is expected to try for his second straight Street Stock crown in
2001 and Bryan Godown is expected to return for his second straight title.

Dirt track stock car racing action moves into the spotlight as the 2001
racing season begins on East Windsor's half mile clay oval on Friday evening
(April 6) weather permitting. The Big-Block and Small-Block Modifieds,
Sportsman and Street Stock racers are all scheduled for qualifying and main
event action.

Racing will then continue every Friday night at 7:30 p.m. through
September. For more information on the 2001 East Windsor Speedway schedule
