Successful Anniston area businessman Bill Teneyck purchased the 3/8ís mile clay oval in November after previously leasing the track for the past two years; and immediately began a massive upgrade of the track facilities. Improvements are quickly falling in place as the Speedway prepares for the most lucrative event ever held at the Glencoe based track. Green Valley Speedway will hold the 2nd Annual Southern All Stars Bama Bash featuring record-breaking prize money and posted awards on the line for participants. The finest field of drivers ever assembled at the track, are expected be on hand vying for the $15,000 top prize for the season opening Championship event for the Southern All Star Super Late Model 2001 Tour.

Both drivers and fans will have new features that benefit all. The fans will be the major recipients in the current phase of the renovation. Fans will have access new bleachers in the main grandstand along with new trackside bleacher seating in turns 1 and 2, plus improved trackside parking in turns 3 and 4 for automobiles. Seating capacity will now be over 6,000 and plus the addition of the new infield admission for fans. The new infield admission area will be available due to the fact that all racecars and racecar haulers will now be parked outside the track in the new pit parking area. Not only will the empty infield allow fans the opportunity to watch the races from the infield but also it will provide a clear view of the track for all in the stands and trackside without any infield obstructions.
