FANS RUSH TO PURCHASE TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY DIRT TRACK TICKETS;
DIRT TRACK BLEACHER CONSTRUCTION NEARING COMPLETION
FORT WORTH-DALLAS (Feb. 7, 2001) - Individual event tickets to the 2001 Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track season went on sale Tuesday of this week, and fans have rushed to purchase seats. Tickets for two Pennzoil World of Outlaws events, a pair of United Dirt Track Association Pro DirtCar Series races, as well as motorcycle races and monster truck shows are being grabbed by fans eager to enjoy the second season at the dirt track.
"It has been amazing to see the fans get an early jump on buying tickets for our dirt track races," speedway vice president and general manager Eddie Gossage said. "It just proves our fans really enjoy what they are seeing at the dirt track, and the improvements on the bleachers will just make it that much more enjoyable this season."
Texas Motor Speedway is nearing completion of construction work on the dirt track grandstand. Crews have been busy since the end of last season working to provide a steeper pitch to the upper seats. The new angle has been created, and workers are putting the bleachers in place. Construction will be completed in time for RPM Week - Texas, March 28-April 1.
The first race of the season on the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track is March 28 with the UDTRA Pro DirtCar Series. The popular Pennzoil World of Outlaws series, which raced in front of standing-room-only crowds last year on the Texas track, is back for the Southern Bleacher Classic on March 29-30.
