IRL STAR SARAH FISHER TO BE HONORED AT ATTICA RACEWAY PARK
ATTICA,OH--- The annual COORS SPRING NATIONALS are always an extra special treat for race fans at Attica Raceway Park but this year’s edition will be extra exciting for open wheel fans as new Attica Raceway Park owners and promoters Brad Cailor and Charlie Fisher have announced they will be presenting SARAH FISHER NIGHT on the Saturday portion of the two day event, which will be held Friday April 20 and Saturday April 21. In addition to Indy Racing League (IRL) superstar Sarah Fisher being in attendance that evening, race fans will have a chance to meet Ms. Fisher and see a real Indy racing machine as well as the Sarah Fisher replica ¼ Midget. TW Wheels will also have special surprises for the kids attending.
“We are extremely excited about Sarah’s appearance at Attica,” stated promoter Brad Cailor. “The night is special as we will also have a great tie-in to her racing roots with the All Star Sprints. Attica is where she won her first heat race so it is also a special place for her as well.”
SARAH FISHER NIGHT will take place on night two of the COORS SPRING NATIONALS which will headline the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars in a $5,000 to win main event.
“Sarah is, arguably, one of the most popular drivers in the country right now as well as a great ambassador for the sport,” continued Cailor. “The bottom line is that Sarah is a great person and has not let success go to her head. To Charlie and I, she is still Sarah! I have known her since she was in middle school and she is still the same warm, polite person now as she was then. She is just very intense about her racing. I like that!”
Cailor, 36, of Dublin, OH, recently purchased Attica Raceway Park with Charlie Fisher from former owners Gene Frankart and Earl Baltes. Cailor is enthused about the upcoming season and is anticipating a sell out crowd for SARAH FISHER NIGHT and the COORS SPRING NATIONALS.
“We are anticipating a standing-room only crowd so we encourage everyone to get there early,” stated Cailor. “Besides a great All Stars Sprint race known as the COORS SPRING NATIONALS, the ‘buzz’ about this night has been overwhelming as fans, and especially kids, are really excited to have a chance to meet Sarah. She is a perfect role model for youths as well as adults. She is the girl-next-door, made good. She has been racing since age three and has earned her stripes. It is no accident that several polls have voted her most popular driver! She deserves everything that comes her way. She is a true racer!”
The COORS SPRING NATIONALS will kick off Friday April 20 featuring the Sunoco ALMS Late Models and the 410 Sprint Cars with each feature paying $3,000 to win. Saturday’s portion will headline the All Star Circuit of Champions in a $5,000 to win event along with the chance to meet and greet Ms. Fisher. Cailor is confident that the weekend will be a sell out as well as a memorable weekend for race fans.
“I’m expecting a controlled variety of chaos!” exclaimed Cailor. “The ‘IRL Crew’ Indy Show Car will be on hand and also longtime Sarah Fisher supporter Joe Darmafal, owner of TW Metals, has come aboard to supply a replica ¼ Midget painted in classic Sarah ‘Mead Blue #9’ livery as well as plenty of ‘goodies’ that will be made available to the kids. I’m expecting an outstanding fan reaction that weekend.”
“I can almost sum up their reaction with one little scenario. It reminds me of a time when I was a little boy and I talked to, shook hands with and got an autograph from my hero, Don Martin. To this day that is still one of the biggest moment of my entire life!”
