Tennessee Go-Kart WinterNationals Feb. 17th

The first event of the Y2K1 racing season at the Cleveland Speedway is just around the corner. Much like previous years, professional Go-Kart racing will be kicking off a fresh new season at the 1/3 mile clay banked racing facility. The 5th annual Go-Kart "Winter Nationals" event will host ten different divisions of karters from around the country on Saturday February 17th. The event will be highlighted with the "Stock Heavy (divisions) Shootout" paying $750. 00 to win. The Stock Medium, Limited Heavy, and Stock Super Heavy will be racing for $500. 00 to win their respective divisions. Also in competition will be the Stock Lite, Jr. Restricted, Jr. Unrestricted, Jr. Sportsman 1, Jr. Sportsman 2, and Amateur divisions. Karters from around the South, from as far away as Memphis and Mississippi are expected to enter the annual event. Gates will open Saturday morning at 8:00AM EST. with practice running from 12:00PM to 1:30PM. Qualifying and feature racing (scoring by transponder's) will make up the rest of the afternoon.
