Mercer banquet tickets and mall show entries now available

Mercer, PA.Tickets for the annual awards banquet and dinner along with
entries for the mall show are now available and are being accepted through
the Mercer Raceway Park office in Pulaski, Pa.
The public is welcome to attend the awards banquet and dinner for the final
send off of the 2000 racing season as Yankee Lake Ballroom hosts the annual
fete on Saturday, February 24. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and happy hour
will continue until 6:30 p.m. The buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
Following dinner, the top ten drivers in the sprint car, big-block modified,
six-cylinder modified, sportsman modified, and stock car divisions will
receive their point fund monies and plaques.
Like at last year's banquet, special awards will be given. These will
include the "Living Legend Award", the "Legacy Award", the "Horizon Award",
and the "Special Achievement Award". "We wanted to do something special for
our drivers that will be remembered," said track owner Vicki Emig. "It went
over so well at last year's banquet that we want to keep it going as
tradition that everyone looks forward too."
Following the awards presentation, "The Storm", will perform live for
everyone's dancing and listening pleasures. Tickets are $28.50 and can be
ordered by sending a check to Mercer Raceway Park at RD #1, Pulaski, PA
16143. The deadline for ticket orders is Monday, February 19. No tickets
will be sold at the door.
Mercer Raceway Park is proud to announce that it has secured the Southern
Park Mall in Boardman, Ohio March 14-18 for its second annual "Dirt Track
Race Car Show". Last year, over thirty cars participated as the Southern
Park Mall hosted a race car show for the first time in nearly thirty years.
Those wishing to display their car in the show must obtain an entry form
from our office by calling 724-964-9300.
Saturday, April 7 has been selected as "First Night" 50th anniversary season
opener. The sprint cars, big-block modifieds, sportsman modifieds, and stock
cars will be in action beginning at 6:30 p.m. More news will be released in
