The Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland Tennessee released it's 2001 season schedule Wednesday on it's official internet web-site www.clevelandspeedway.com . Highlighted on the schedule at press-time is this season's three (3) Southern All-Star series races. The series will make stops at Cleveland's 1/3 mile clay banked dirt track; March 17th (the 6th Annual Shamrock), July 21st (the 11th Annual Jean Johnson Memorial) and on November 16th & 17th (the 13th Annual Gobbler 100). The first practice of the season for racecars will be Saturday afternoon February 17th from noon to 5PM, with the first race of the season the NewLook Y2K1 Opener scheduled for Saturday night March 10th. Racer's of the TN Valley area are looking forward to the "hands-on" AFCO Shocks Seminar, March 23rd & 24th. The points championship race's for 2001 are scheduled to begin March 31st with the "Championship Opener" event. Local racing divisions (Claimer Late Models, Hobby, Pony and Street) have two highlighted events this season on the schedule, that see double point accumulations. The return of Winged Outlaw Sprint Car racing to Cleveland Speedway is expected this year, but that event is still in the "blue-print" stages and has yet to be released. Addition's and/or changes to the schedule will be updated throughout the season on the web-site.
