HAGERSTOWN SPEEDWAY TO HAVE DISPLAY IN PENNZOIL MOTORSPORTS
HAGERSTOWN, MD - With Opening Day less than two months away, the
Hagerstown Speedway will kick off its 2001 season with a display in the
Annual Pennzoil Motorsports Auto Racing Trade Show. The three day show
will be presented in the Ft. Washington Expo Center in Ft. Washington,
PA on January 12th, 13th and 14th. The show is expected to attract over
40,000 people. The Hagerstown Speedway has participated in the Pennzoil
Motorsports Show since its inaugural event in 1986.
The Hagerstown Speedway booth will feature the #7 car of Charlie
Schaffer of Hampstead, MD. After driving his own car for several years,
Schaffer teamed up with former driver Paul Crowl two years ago. Schaffer
started racing in street stocks at Trail-Way Speedway in 1983 and has
won at least one race at most tracks he has competed in Maryland,
Pennsylvania, Virginia and Delaware. He also has a late model
championship at Winchester Speedway in 1993. Schaffer had two wins at
Hagerstown in 2000 and ranks 14th on the career win list with ten.
The speedway invites everyone to stop by the Hagerstown Speedway booth
to meet Schaffer and the rest of the Schaffer-Crowl Racing team and pick
up a copy of the 2001 schedule. Opening day is scheduled for Sunday,
