As we start the new millennium, the management of Lernerville Speedway
would like to take this opportunity to wish you a healthy, happy and
prosperous new year.
Lernerville Speedway will host two car shows once again this season. The
first will take place at the Butler Mall, March 8,9, and 10 and the next will
occur at the Highlands Mall, March 15, 16, and 17. Co-Promoter Garry "Arch"
Hunter is co-ordinating the activities. Car owners that wish to participate
in the one or both of the events are encouraged to register by calling
Phyllis at the Speedway office. The number is 724-353-1511. There are only a
certain number of spaces available and after they are filled, a waiting list
will be drawn.
Despite the bitter cold weather, Co-Promoter Al "Ouch" Roenigk and his
crew have been very busy in the off-season. The last set of bleachers,
located near turn one, has been pulled back from the front fence. This offers
another superb view of the track.
The June 1st TNN televised Lernerville World of Outlaws Show will be the
first Western PA show shared with the audiences across the world. In
preparation for this event, owners Patty and Helen Martin have decided to
install new Musco Lighting on the grandstand side of the speedway. The poles
will arrive in four weeks. The track crew has already begun installing the
conduit that will house the underground wiring. We are hoping to have them in
operation by our first race, March 30, 2001.
Remember to circle March 3, 2001 on your schedule for the 33rd annual
Lernerville Banquet to be held at the Day's in South of Butler. The price of
the banquet featuring a scrumptious buffet is $30.
Rat Bag's Dirt Track Racing featuring Sprints now in the stores is into its
second printing. This is the first authentic Sprint car simulation game based
on the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series. Featuring breakneck acceleration and
spectacular collisions, Dirt Track Racing, it will enable you to drive a
racer that accurately recreates the experience of driving a 410 ci, winged
Sprint. With 800hp at your command, and a power-to-weight ratio that is
second to none. Lernerville Speedway is proud to be one of the tracks
featured in this game. Sony will produce a "play station" game next year.
