2ND Annual Southern All Star BAMA BASH Dates Announced
Gadsden, Al - Green Valley Speedway will play host to the 2nd Annual BAMA
BASH on February 23-25. The event will once again be the Southern All Star
Dirt Racing Series season opener with the 75-lap SAS Super Late Model Main
Event paying a track and series record $15,000 to the winner. Many
improvements are underway at the 3/8's mile semi banked northeast Alabama
clay oval that will greet the racers and fans for the high profile event.
The inaugural event attracted 58 Southern All Star entrants with Rock
Springs, GA's John Jones claiming the checkers.
There will be four classes participating in the race. The headline division
will be the Southern All Star Super Late Models paying $15,000 to win with
over $50,000 in cash and posted awards on the line for the SAS Storm
Troopers. The local divisions will also compete for record purses as well.
Sportsman will pay $2,000 to win, IMCA Modifieds $1,500 to win, and Bombers
paying $800 to win.
Action will get underway with an open practice session for all classes
competing on Friday February 23rd. Then on Saturday February 24th there will
be SAS Pole Qualifying plus SAS Qualifying and local division qualifying
races. Action will climax on Sunday February 25th with BAMA BASH B-Mains and
